Here's my story on service, repair and maintenance: I charge $45 an hour and $22.50 for each half hour after that, if needed. Parts are extra, of course and if I look at it and tell you I'm skeptical, but willing... then I won't charge you if it turns out I can't fix it. I don't charge to look, or think, or try... under most circumstances. I work with Annie's Quilt Shop in Shelton, WA they provide a drop-off and pick up service (with a very small increase to cover their time and store expenses). I also work on vintage industrials ($65.00 an hour). I can also come to the Senior Center here in Shelton to pick up machines and drop them off. I did house calls, but that slowed down to summers on someone's porch occasionally. A typical service takes an hour. Some machines, simple and well cared for, less. And some more do to their design and or treatment.
In regard to recycling machines that are not fixable, I will take all machines and break them down (when that is what is needed) and take their parts to the right recycling place. So if you have one or two you just want to dump and you're nearby, email me: kixfixing@gmail.com

This Kenmore looked perfectly normal on the top side, except it didn't turn.
So before I looked under the machine; "Ahh, no problem, I can probably get this freed up for you, ma'am." Ooops! "Uhh, ma'ma? Did your kenmore sit in water somewhere?" ...and then there was a story about a flood.

This wonderful little Singer was cleaned and serviced. The squatters were gone and luckily it was fiberglass and not cotton. So there was very little rust and this was just a $45 service.
